It’s been awhile since I released any of my own music, but the anger about all the fascist BS going on right now woke me up one night with a stream of words pouring out of me.., I had some musical ideas that I thought would pair well… It’s not pretty, and some will obviously hate it, but I wanted to get it out for ‘no kings’ day, and for Don Taco’s cumpleaños …also -/wanted to say—it is weird to live in a time where I felt a little hesitant to release this-/that is not the America I’ve known all my life—though, of course, it is an America where many with more pigmentation than me have had to suffer—that is not lost on me—when a president declares’war’ on its own citizens, we have a country that Americans have always used as an example of ‘not free’. This rapid progression must stop and reverse….if you are on Instagram, you can go to your favorite streaming place and type in the title – All Fail the King— it will pop up.
This current version of the Untied States o’ Murica is so… depressing? infuriating? so many words could be used…. with masked thugs, no legal documentation/identification to show, no warrants…just grabbing up anyone they want because they are bounty hunters collecting rewards–this country now seems like the kind of country that all Americans would have pointed to as the kind of country that we are ‘above’ — those countries that have unjust leadership, where anyone can be disappeared at any time for any reason with no recourse. Those that are in support of this are totally unaware and oblivious of the fact that these kinds of actions will eventually catch up to them too–that when it finally dawns on them that it’s awful, their protest could easily get them ‘scooped up’ too. The hypocrisy of people sporting the ‘don’t tread on me’ flags, license plates, etc, while a government is treading on so many is just staggering to me. It seems to mean ‘don’t tread on me specifically—but have your way with anyone else, especially if they aren’t white’. Calling out for states rights, then imposing unrequested federal troops on a state is just such BS. I released this song last week on Don Taco’s b-day…. the demented narcissist in chief needs to go, and actual law enforcement needs to be arresting these criminals who are lawlessly posing as law enforcement.
